I moved because of graphic commercials

I was so sick of graphic commercials during daytime sports that I moved across the nation to the east coast. It was the only way to solve the problem. Ok, I am joking about the reason for moving but I did move to North Carolina. So far I am loving it. :) I have been here for about 3 weeks. We got here just in time for our first Hurricane. I am glad the hurricane wasn't too bad here. A new post is in the works. It has been a very busy time.

I like to watch sports during the day with my family on the weekends and have been surprised by some of the very graphic R rated movie trailer commercials I see during daytime television. I frequently have to tell my kids to look away or cover their eyes. I have been upset by this on a number of occasions because by the time you realize it's a bad commercial your kids have already seen some of it. I have been irritated but never done anything about it until today when I was watching the playoffs and a commercial for the movie Priest came on while my kids were watching. I told my kids to look away but it was to late. My 7 year old daughter almost immediately had tears in her eyes because of what she saw. It was this gross bald creature with fangs and claws growling or screaming. That's when I decided I had, had enough. I got online and contacted the network with the following email:

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that I am very tired of watching sports during the day with my kids and seeing horrible R rated movie commercials. We were watching the nba playoffs and saw the commercial for the movie Priest and that was the last straw. Please keep your commercials family friendly during the day. I will be dealing with nightmares and sleepless nights in the mean time from that awful commercial.

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to respond.
This is a product category that has received an acceptance in television, and the specific spot cleared (the network) advertisement standard review. We recognize that not all our viewers will view these ads as appropriate but as a national network with broad appeal, our standards recognize the widely divergent tastes of our national viewers and advertisers.

We appreciate your feedback and have shared your comments with our advertising and programming executives.

Hi,

While I understand you view this as appropriate I can assure you that there are many parent's that agree with me and have not expressed there disgust to the network. Your clearance for advertisements are obviously very lax. I would urge you to consider only using R rated movie advertising for night time viewership. I am sure I could get many people to agree with me on this..............................(I'm not done writing the email yet)

Am I off base here or does anyone else agree with me? I would like to prove to this network and other network's that it is not appropriate to show these commercials during the day, by getting enough people to voice their opinion. Please leave a comment if you agree or disagree. I would like to get the conversation going between parent's and TV network's so we can get this changed.

A beauty tip I learned years ago that helped me snag my man. It's simple and inexpensive.

What you need: A toothbrush ( buy a toothbrush to use specifically for this. We will call this your beauty toothbrush)

and Vaseline:

First apply Vaseline to your lips. Next gently brush your lips with the "beauty toothbrush" As you brush you will be removing dead skin and rubbing in moisture. You don't need to brush long. When you are done reapply vaseline or chapstick. The result should be nice ,very kissable, fuller looking lips.

Ahhh!!! Vacation was nice!

I took a much needed break from the computer and was enjoying the holiday season with family and friends. It feels pretty good to not even turn on the computer for days at a time.Our vacation started with a crazy road trip to Disneyland, Vegas, Utah and back home all in 5 days. We spent one day at Disneyland. Southern California usually doesn't have rain but out of 4 times I have gone to Disneyland it has rained 3 of those times. I think that's weird, but it usually keeps the lines from getting out of control. So, that's nice. I also learned about the parent switch pass ,if you have an infant or child who can not ride a particular ride, One parent stays with the kid that can't ride until the rest of the family is off the ride then the parents switch and the parent who hasn't gone on the ride can take the kids who can ride and skip the line. We had never been to Disneyland at Christmas time when they have all the lights and decorations up so it was fun to see.

They even had reindeer. I thought that was really cool, but not surprising this is Disney we are talking about.

After Disneyland we drove to Vegas and only stayed a couple hours. It was raining and our kids weren't really impressed. What does it take to impress kids these days? Our goal was to get to Utah anyway.We were going to visit my sister's family. They just had a baby and we were dying to get our babies together. . We spent a couple days together and then headed home to get ready for Christmas. It was only a couple days before Christmas and we had to get a tree, decorate, put up lights on the house, get last minute gifts, bake and do some Christmas traditions. It was a crazy time that really hasn't stopped until this week when the kids went back to school. I like doing fun stuff, but I like time to relax on vacation too and we didn't get much of that. I am looking forward to this weekend. Hopefully it will be a little more relaxed. Maybe after my sons Basketball game Saturday. There's always something right? haha

My review: I was excited to get the oportunity to review the Hasbro action figures. My boys love spiderman and star wars. They have spiderman dress up costumes and of course want light sabers for christmas. I am reluctant to get the light sabers because I can just see them wacking eachother in the face with them, but I would love to give them some action figures of there favorite movies and shows. My kids love the action figures they have and I know these will be a hit, but shhhh!!! don't tell. I had to sneak the Action figures out to take a picture. I think they will think they are pretty cool. While I was sneaking they were sleeping.

My other son ,getting one of these toys, is older and would probably be upset if I snuck a picture of him sleeping on here so I didn't, but he is sleeping too.

My review: I was asked to make one of the recipes found on the Auntie Anne's site with my at home baking kit. They have dessert pizza, pretzel rolls, monkey bread, apple dumplings, deep dish pizza,pretzel dogs, pretzel stuffing, pumpkin bread pudding recipes and more. I chose monkey bread for a couple reasons. One is it's delicious and two is it's fun for the kids to help roll the balls in the sugar mix. So once we started it was pretty easy to make. I used my electric stand mixer to combine the yeast, water mix and flour. Then you just set it out to rise for 30 min. and you are ready to roll it into balls and cover it with the sugar mixture and butter.Place the balls in the bundt pan and bake. The kit has a lot of the ingredients although you do need a little sugar, butter, cinnamon and cooking spray.Those are probably things you already have. Check the recipe here for more detailed instructions. This is a great product to use during the holidays because there are so many options of different recipes to make for family guests and friends. We liked the monkey bread and I am interested in trying out some of the other recipes too. The pretzel dogs look good.

My review: I think Babylegs are so cute. I love the striped ones. I like that they are easy to keep in the diaper bag because they take up such little room. My review: This is my second cloth diaper. I have been contemplating switching to cloth and had the opportunity to try the Kissaluvs Marvels AIO diaper. It really is very easy to use. It is as easy as any disposable diaper but much softer and more gentle on babies skin. It has lots of absorbancy and has worked well when I have used it during the day. My baby leaks every diaper I have tried during the night. I was hoping this diaper would work to keep him dry but he leaked this one too. I don't think it has anything to do with the diaper my baby just pees a ton. He is 2 months old and even leaked size 4 huggies overnight diapers and he also has leaked 2 diapers together, one larger diaper over a smaller one, I have tried everything. What on earth??? Anyway I love the no mess, no stuffing feature of this diaper and the easy snap closure. The diaper is meant to fit babies from 7lbs-35lbs and can snap up or down and wide or thin for any size and I am sure would work great as baby grows. It is a little bulky for smaller babies though. Overall a nice and easy cloth diaper.

Is your baby talk bad for your baby?

In my opinion baby talk can delay speech and sometimes cause your child to have speech impediments. When you talk to your baby, they are learning a language. If you miss pronounce words you are teaching them wrong. Imagine you are learning a new language and you decide to buy a CD that teaches you the language. The CD starts and you listen and repeat what you are being taught. Only it is wrong and you have no idea.You go to the country where that language is spoken and try to use what you have learned to communicate with the people in that country. No one understands you. You want desperately to communicate your feelings and desires and you become very frustrated. Consider this when you talk to your child. They need to be taught correctly. They want desperately to communicate with you. So pronounce your words correctly and clearly so your child can hear you.
I have seen a number of examples with my kids and other peoples kids where there has been baby talk and no baby talk and seen the outcome. I am convinced it plays a factor in your childs developement and their ability to communicate.
I also believe it is a good idea, as your child learns to talk and gets a little practice, to correct them if they say a word or letter incorrectly. Have them slowly repeat the word or letter sound after you. This will help them to not make a habit out of saying the word or letter sound incorrectly.

I really like this chair. I saw an old wingback chair on craigslist for $5. I would love to re- upholster something like that in a gorgeous fabric like this one. I saw a Robert Allen home fabric I like but since it's $75 a yard. I will wait on something like that. I would hate to spend that much money and screw up the upholstery job.I think I should get some practice in first. Anyone know what fabric this chair is covered in?

Look who's been taking up my time

I love this little guy so much! I honestly love being a mom. It is the best. I am really enjoying this baby so much. He has the cutest smile. He smiles when any of us talk to him. He laughs and trys to talk to us too. He is the happiest baby. I think it has been easier this time than with any of my children. That may seam weird to say since I now have 4 kids but I think it's a number of reasons one being that my other kids are older. I have a 4 year gap in ages between this baby and my last. I think it's also easier because I know what I am doing and can tell what each cry and wine means. Although this baby doesn't cry that much. He mostly wines if he is bored and wants to go check out something new. He is the main reason it is easier. He is so good. Plus I am getting more sleep thanks to the amazing woombie. We have a routine. I change his diaper, put him in the woombie, feed him and he falls asleep. He then stays asleep from 8 to about 4 most nights. Amazing!!! My baby is also huge. He just turned 2 months and I already had to get the next size Woombie for babies 14-19lbs. I am the luckiest mom in the world I may never stop having kids if I keep getting little angels. That's a joke. I don't want my husband getting any ideas. I do think my kids are angels though and I am so grateful for them everyday. I am glad I am a stay at home mom. This time goes so fast and I wouldn't miss it for anything.

I need new dining room chairs because I have upholstered chairs that have become a mess. We have cleaned them to no avail. So I would re-upholster them if I knew how and if I even had enough chairs. I have 4 chairs and a family of 6. So here's a tip: If you ever plan on having kids never get upholstered dining room chairs unless you would like to reupholster them. Which leads me to my fantasy this week. Even though I don't need a new table, well my husband did sit on the table like a chair and broke one of the legs. He fixed it but it's not perfect. So I guess I could use a new table too. Anyway this pottery barn set I love. The seats do have cushions on them but you can take them off and wash them. The gorgeous windows and high ceilings of course make this look even more beautiful. A real fantasy!! Oh ya and I love Hydrangeas which they have placed perfectly along the middle of the table. :)

My review: I was excited to find out about Oliver's Labels because my son is always loosing his sweaters at school. He leaves them out on the playground or at lunch and then we have to go search through lost and found and a couple of times they haven't been there. With a label attached to the sweater it would have been hard for someone to mistake his sweater as there's. This hopefully won't happen again now that we have the labels. I got labels with just our last name, that way less information is on my childs things and I can use the labels for all of our family. Although if you want you can get labels for each family member with their name on it. I love that the labels are durable and waterproof. I keep my kids clothes when they grow out of them to use for my younger kids or to keep for possible future kids but in the meantime I will also lend out clothes to friends who have kids that could use the clothes. These labels are perfect for making sure I will get the clothes back that I lend out. I also really like the found it feature. I will hopefully never need it but chances are it will come in handy.

The products I reviewed: Water Bugs and Boon Flo.

The Water bugs: Kids can scoop up these colorful critters as they glide across the water. Set includes three floating bugs and a mesh net.They are BpA free, phthalate free and PVC free and at $7.99 very affordable.

My review: I love the water bugs and net. The bugs float on the water and are a cute, fun and clean. I have had lots of bath toys for my kids that have holes in them that allow water to get in. After a litttle while they begin to get mildew in them and they end up in the garbage. I am so glad the water bugs do not have holes in them. They can dry completly and will last longer and stay cleaner. My kids think they are cool. I like the colors too.What a great toy!

My review: I have needed something like the Flo for quite sometime. My 3rd child has scraped his back on the bath water faucet so many times that he has a permanent scar. So needless to say I was excited to give the Flo a try.The Flo is great for keeping injuries from the faucet from happening. The flexible material of the Flo provides a safe alternative to the metal faucet. Since I now have a baby it will be nice to have this as he grows. He will never have to experience the scrapes and bumps my other children have experienced from the metal faucet.
The Flo also has a bubble bath dispenser. My daughter fights me every night when I say it's time to take a bath. I am thinking it shouldn't be a surprise that it's bath time since we take baths every night but she still acts surprised that I would ask her to take a bath. So when I showed the Flo to her and how she could just push the button to make a bubble bath she was pretty excited and she didn't fight me on the bath. I like the dispenser too. It keeps the kids from pouring too much bubble bath out of a bottle and wasting it.
I have an old home and my faucet didn't match up with the opening on top. I am able to use the Flo during the kids baths but I have to take it off when not in use so we can have access to the shower pull. It is suppose to fit standard faucets so mine is probably not the standard of today. My faucet is probably at least 60 years old. If your shower pull is towards the front or middle of your faucet it should work. If the pull is in the back ,closest to the shower wall, like mine it might not fit properly.
Overall I thought the Flo was a great product that I will enjoy having.

Sorry this is up a little late today. I had to go to bed when my kids did last night at 8:00. I was so tired I felt sick and had a headache. Usually I write posts after the kids are in bed but that didn't happen last night. It's a good thing I went to bed at 8:00 because my baby didn't sleep very good last night. My Review: I received a duo diaper in storm cloud size one to review and I love the color and softness of the diaper. I have been contemplating changing to cloth diapers and was excited to give these a try. I like that the size one diaper has the ability to adjust from 6lbs to 18lbs. When my baby was born he was 9lbs. and basically skipped the newborn size of disposable diapers and within 2 weeks outgrew size one of the disposable diapers. With babies growing so fast the adjustable sizing is a must, it allows you to invest in cloth diapers and still save money compared to disposable. Since I only have the one cloth diaper right now I have been able to compare the cloth diaper with disposables. One thing I have noticed is the softness of a cloth diaper on my babies skin and on his chubby little thighs. The disposables have left redness and marks around his legs while the cloth diaper seams to be more gentle on his skin. When you think about it wouldn't you rather have cloth on your skin than a crinkly paper/plastic like material? What are disposable diapers made of anyway?

My Review: I received a blue silly billyz play mat pictured above to review. I really like the play mat. I use to use a regular blanket to lay under my other kids when they were babies and I always felt like I needed to wash the blankets after only using them once because I couldn't remember which side I layed on the ground. I didn't want to put my baby on the dirty side. With the play mat I always know which side goes on the ground and which side is clean for my baby to lay on. I love the waterproof side too. That makes it nice for a day outside on the grass. I also think the waterproof side would be great if it's raining to have the nylon side up to protect your babies legs if they are in the carseat or stroller. The blanket is a great size to throw in the diaper bag and a great addition to anyones baby gear.

My review: I love the little hat I received. I got the brown and green one pictured above and have had a fun time putting my baby in it. He looks so cute with his chubby little cheeks and I am happy to have this cute keepsake to cherish as my boy grows up. Unfortunately they do grow so fast and it's things like this that bring your memory back to this precious time. Now I want to book a photo shoot for my baby so I can have some cute pictures to go along with the little hat.
In the next few months it will be really nice to use this hat to keep my baby's head warm. I also love the little girl hats this etsy shop has. The little crochet flowers and bows are so cute.

Just in time for Halloween! I have had the privilege to review a very cute costume from the costumesupercenter.com. I browsed their site and came across many cute kids costumes. My boys already have what they are going to wear for Halloween. My 4 yr old gets a hand me down from his brother and I bought a skeleton costume for $2.00 after Halloween last year for my oldest son. So I mostly looked at the girls costumes for my daughter. I found lots of princess costumes I thought she might like but she has been a princess before so I kept looking. That's when I found an adorable Honey Bee costume.

I received the costume in the mail and immediately took it out to inspect it. Most Halloween costumes are intended for one use and you can tell by the quality and fabric.While this costume is made of similar costume fabric it seamed a little thicker well stitched. I feel this costume can be used for dress up well after Halloween is over. The size I ordered was a medium which is listed as a 4-6 but the medium that was sent is 7-10. So confirm the size before ordering. They do have a quick link for questions with email and phone number that should easily clear that up.The costume was as cute as I expected and the headband and accesories that came with it is really cute. I love her costume for Halloween it is one of my favorite costumes she has had so far.
After inspecting the costume I put the costume in my daughters room. When she got home from school she tried it on and loved it. Then when her Granny came over the next day my daughter wanted to show off her new costume. Her granny loved it too. I am so excited to have the costumes taken care of. The delivery was quick and easy. I didn't have to visit any Halloween stores with costumes my kids are scared of. Well they aren't scared anymore but they used to be and some of the costumes I would rather my kids didn't see.

Baby #4 was born

Sorry I have been neglecting my blog lately. I had my sweet little angel a little over a week ago.

Earlier this month when I was 40 weeks pregnant I packed all my bags for the hospital and went to my doctors appointment hoping I could convince the doctor to induce me that day. No one wants to go past their due date. You know it's like a count down to have your baby, once you reach it you expect to have your baby. So I thought it would be no problem to convince the doctor that I needed to be induced, Afterall I had been induced with my previous three children and everything went smoothly and pretty quickly. I was more afraid to go into labor on my own than to be induced and because my first child who was a week late was 9 lbs. I didn't want to wait and have this baby grow any bigger. I voiced my concerns to the doctor and was told that it's policy to wait 41 weeks before inducing and there was nothing I could say to change that. She also told me not to worry my baby seemed an average 7-8 lb. So I went home very dissapointed that I would have to wait another week.
One week later we went to the hospital to be induced. I arrived at the hospital at 8:00 am. I then waited hours before even getting someone to try to give me an IV. I guess another lady came in to the hospital who was already in labor, so she took priority. When the nurse tried to give me the IV she had a hard time and said my viens were bursting (which hurt bad and left huge bruises) So she tried twice then called in another nurse who also tried twice and burst some viens then they callled the anesthesiologist who got it on the first try. Thank goodness. I guess I was dehydrated so it made it harder to see my viens. Then I finally got the pitocin at 12:30. Just in time for my friend ,who works in labor in delivery at the hospital I was delivering at, to get to work and be my nurse. Which was really nice. She took good care of us. By 5:00 I was at 9 centimeters. We waited a little while for the midwife to get there and our baby was born at 6:09. A big 9 lb 2oz. healthy baby boy. He outdid my oldest son by 1oz. I love big babies with their chubby cheeks. He is so cute I can't put him down. At the hospital they tell you you are not allowed to sleep with your baby when you are there. Too bad cause I did. I just pretended I was breastfeeding everytime they came in at night. By the way, why do they come in way more at night than during the day? I was thinking "go away" at night and "where are they" during the day.
Aside from having to wait a week. This pregnancy was the easiest one I have ever had. I didn't get sick at all and I usually get migranes all the time but I didn't have any during my pregnancy. I was comfortable and really didn't mind being pregnant. (I usually don't like it) The recovery has been really easy too. I am really grateful for this and the healthy sweet boy I now have. Every time I have a child I think "I am the luckiest mom in the whole world to have such cool, cute, precious children." I seriously love being their mom.

My Review: The Plush Pad is indead Plush. I received the Plush Pad in Vintage blue pictured directly above and I love it. The fabric is gorgeous and I love how nice and easily it rolls up to fit nicely in your diaper bag. The white part of the pad is made of a very soft fabric and has a memory foam underneath providing a very soft comfortable place for baby to lay. This is indead a treat. I have never had a changing table for any of my children due to the lack of space in our house. I have always changed my babies diapers on the floor. I have really enjoyed being able to use something much softer for my baby. A great place to use the plush pad is when you are out of the house and have to use the changing tables in bathrooms. They are made of such a hard surface and you always have to put something under your baby anyway for sanitary purposes so the Plush Pad is a great pad to use to keep your baby comfortable and clean. I also like how easy it is to wash. You just remove the memory foam pad and wash the rest in the washing machine. I washed mine and the fabric didn't fade at all. This product is luxury for your baby. A great present for any mom expecting or who has a baby.

I love that my baby won't match all the other babies and will stand out as mine. This is also a special keepsake to have as my babies first little hat. It is so much cuter than the ones from the hospital. The hats that Pine Meadow Crafts sells are adorable for a baby photoshoot and are perfect for the winter to keep baby warm too. My Review: The Wiggy Roll fits perfect in my infant car seat without overhang and is made of a nice soft fabric. It is extremely easy to attach and remove from the infant seat. If you leave it attached you will always have a blanket where ever you go. If you want to keep it in your diaper bag it rolls up very nicely and has a velcro strap to keep it rolled up until you want to use it. I look forward to using this in the winter. It is a great product for babies and parents on the go.

Unlike traditional swaddling blankets which are made of a thicker, denser cotton, this 100% cotton weave called muslin, minimizes the risk of the baby over-heating and becoming drenched in sweat because it allows the excess heat to leave the swaddle.

The lightweight weave, and substantial size, allows the baby to be more effectively swaddled because there is more flexibility, or ‘give’, in the fabric itself. These blankets provide a tighter and more snug wrap with extra cushioning for baby. Its quilted weave gives a super soft cushioning feel.

My review: I love the large size and breathable fabric. Perfect for a summer baby. The fabric is cute and I like that they have added a new one in pink for a girl. The Koala Kuddles do in fact get softer with each wash but they start out a little rough. These blankets are large enough to use for more than just swaddling yet thin enough to take up little room in the diaper bag. It is a great blanket to have on the go.

My Review: I Love Nite Owl Designs Etsy shop. They have the most adorable onesies with the cutest designs.When I first saw this Etsy shop I immediately loved it but I didn't expect the product to be even cuter in real life. I was lucky enough to receive a cute little owl onesie to review and I have to tell you when I got it in the mail and opened up the package I was all smiles. The onesie is so adorable that my kids were even oohing and aahing over it. Of course I packed it in the diaper bag to take to the hospital. I can't wait to put it on my little baby boy. I do pull it out often just to look at it and imagine my cute little guy in it. Have you ever done that with a little outfit before your baby was born?
If you are going to a baby shower these onesies are the perfect gift. You will have all the other guests asking where you got it and I am sure everyone at the shower will ooh and aah. These really are that cute. If you are expecting or just had a baby you should include at least one of these in your babies wardrobe.

My Review: I received a closer to nature ® clear shield pacifier 0-6m 2 pack in clear to review.
I love the clear design and the fact that they come in a great carrying case to keep the pacifiers clean and easy to find. I had concidered buying something to store pacifiers in that would stay in the diaperbag but I think the nice clear case it comes with will do the job and I won't have to pay extra to get one. The clear plastic container that comes with the pacifiers can also be used to steralize the pacifiers in the microwave. You add a little water to the container and heat for about a min. (check instructions on site before using this method) I think that is very convenient and cool. I like the large holes in the area that rests on the face to provide ample circulation and I also like that the pacifiers are designed with dental health in mind.

My Review: I was so excited to find the KinderGlo night lights. I use to have the glo in the dark collectible glo worms when I was a child and I loved them. I have been looking for something similar for my kids. The KinderGlo is similar but more up to date with the led rechargeable light and the color changing features. The KinderGlo is larger than the Glo worms I use to have as a child. When I got this in the mail my kids were very interested in it and thought it was very cool. I intend on using this for the baby but my daughter is still occasionally afraid of the dark. She usually has us turn on the bathroom light in the middle of the night which can be too bright for everyone else trying to sleep. Instead of turning on the bathroom light I tried giving her the night light to see if that would work. She was happy to get to use the KinderGlo. I made it stay one color so she would not be distracted and would go right back to sleep. I think the continuously changing color would be nice to soothe a baby but would keep my daughter up so it is nice to have the option. I also like the 30 min timer on the light. I think that is plenty of time to be left on and I don't have to go in and turn it off. We use to have a traditional night light that plugs into the wall with my daughter but the night light would get really hot so I always had to go in and turn it off. Then she would wake up in the middle of the night and want it back on, but I would worry about it getting too hot again. The KinderGlo night light never gets hot and is safe to leave on all night if you want to. I think the KinderGlo night light is a cool product.

Last minute trip to Utah

So last week I was 3 weeks away from my due date and decided to take a 12 hour road trip to Utah. Sounds crazy but I have never gone into labor on my own. After having 3 kids I know I will be induced somewhere around my due date. So I wasn't worried. We decided to take this trip because my husband needed a root canal and my brother in law is a dentist in Utah with his own practice. He is so sweet and offered to take care of my husbands dental needs. Way cheaper to take the trip and have a great weekend with my sister and her family than to stay here and have the work done with none of the fun. We went out on a boat one day, went to a pool and saw fireworks the next day. The Fireworks were awesome. We had front row seats so close you have to lay down to see them. Relaxed the next day and drove home the day after that. So that is why my blog updates have been sparse. I do have more giveaways and reviews coming up and I am so glad I got my blog background back. :)

I am so upset my background I was using for my blog is not going to be available for me to use anymore. I had gotten it from "The cutest blog on the block" and I recieved a note that my background would dissapear on Friday (I had no idea that could happen) So I started looking around for a new background. I will be playing around with different backgrounds on my blog until I find what I am looking for so it may change several times in the near future. I'm so dissapointed. I liked the red polka dots.

My review: I received the dino jungle wrap onesie and chocolate newborn hat (pictured above) for review. The onesie came in 0-3 mo. and will be a perfect little fall outfit. The leaves and colors really have a fall look and I love fall.The wrap feature and convenient snaps allow you to completely open the shirt and lay it flat which makes it much easier to dress a newborn. After looking around on the Zutano website I have noticed many vibrant and colorful mix and match outfits that are pretty cute. I believe the product looks like it is well made and they offer many great styles to choose from.

My Review:
I received the above set for review and have to say I was impressed. I love the Easi Mat and bowl. It is made to make meal time easier with babies and toddlers so they can't throw their bowl and food on the floor. I love that. The bowls that came with the set have a lid that comes with a place for the spoon to attach to the lid. It keeps the spoon clean and handy when bringing food on the go.That was another feature I really liked. The lid is nice for taking food to go, but I would not place the bowl on it's side and would place the bowl on the bottom of the bag. I didn't have an issue with leaking while testing it but it would make me nervous that the lid could pop off. Maybe it won't but I am a ,better safe than sorry, kind of person. The spoon that came with the set has a cool heat sensing feature that changes color when food is too hot for baby. Of course I would check your babies food on your own but if you forget to check, or notice while mixing up the food that the spoon changes color, it is nice to have that extra feature for your babies safety. The spill proof water bottle is great. It is designed for 18 months and up. My kids are too old for sippy cups (If I let them use it even once they will think it's a new toy) and the baby won't be old enough for this for quite some time. So I had to drink out of this myself. I know that's a funny thought. The cup is in fact spill proof and easy to drink from. It was like drinking through a straw. It has to be tilted up to drink from. As far as leak proof I shook it upside down and nothing came out. I even walked around the house with it upside down just like a baby might, still no leaking. The mouth piece is hard so there isn't anyway of squeezing the top to make it leak either. I am definitely a new Tommee Tippee fan.

My Review: The Planet Wise Wet/Dry bag is a great product with lots of uses. I love that is safe to use and environmentally friendly. I also like that it is a product that can continue to be used after you no longer need to use it for diapers or messy outfits from blowouts or spills. Since our baby isn't coming until August I used the wet/ dry bag on a family outing to the beach to put the wet swimsuits in. I usually bring a plastic bag, but it was nice to have a certain place for the wet stuff and be able to throw it in the wash with the swimsuits. I know it will be really useful when I have it in the diaper bag. I have had many times that this would have been very handy with my other kids when they were babies. If you use cloth diapers or are planning on using cloth diapers I would think this product would be a neccessity.

I Love my Toyota and need my Toyota with a family of 5 and only one car. My car has to be reliable. I have never had to worry about being stranded on the side of the road. We go on all of our family trips in this car. We've been to Disneyland, Tahoe, Utah, Anchor Bay, Santa Cruz, and the list goes on. These are long trips with that many people in the car. We recently went camping and with my large pregnant belly a husband and three kids in the back plus camping gear it's not likely to comfortable but amazingly I was. Tonight we will go to the drive in movies with the kids and our Corolla. We have been to the drive in before and always have a great time. I will count on my Corolla the day I go into labor next month to take me to the hopital and I know I won't be let down.

Toyota Love

I have always thought of Toyota's as a great reliable car to own. I love that Toyota's last long and retain their value. It's not one of those cars that you drive off the lot and loose thousands of dollars. At our house we have a 98 Toyota Corolla. Our Toyota has always been reliable. This is the only car we have so we need reliability. With my husband commuting to school and work and a family of five soon to be six. We have used this car a lot. We have always fit comfortably in our car even on long trips and have not had to take it in to the shop for anything big which is a major plus when you don't have any extra money for repairs. Even if you do have money for repairs who wants to spend money on car repairs??? I love our Toyota and would buy another one if I could.

Then she sat down to decorate her toothbrush and said "ooooh princess stickers" She took like an hour making her spinbrush just right. Since then she has been excited to use her spinbrush and has actually kept the box for her spinbrush to take good care of it.

keeping in line with the baby shower theme this month. I decided for Fantasy Friday I would share with you a baby product I really want. The Mamaroo from 4moms is a baby swing that has 5 unique motions; tree swing, car ride, kangaroo, Rock a bye and Ocean wave. One thing I love about this swing is the fact that it doesn't have legs sticking out in all directions. The base keeps it nice and compact. Since I have a small house compact is a must. Speaking of the base there are speakers in the base!You can use the nature sounds already on the mamaroo or you can plug your mp3 player into it. The mamaroo also has 5 speeds to adjust for play or sleep. You can recline it too. One more thing, the fabric just zips off for easy machine washing. I think they have thought of everything.The only thing I would worry about is my older kids trying to get in it.

My Review: I love innovative ideas that become products to help others and that is exactly what the baby dipper is. I tried it out with some smashed bananas in it and loved that the food slides on it's own into one corner as you empty out the bowl one spoonful at a time. It can be used with only one hand and eliminates the need to lift up the bowl and scoop all the food to one side to get what's remaining. When you have a toddler using it on there own they will be able to get the food on there own easier and the bowl has a non slip bottom also good for toddlers or using one handed. Great product!

Strawberry Crepes Recipe

I love a morning Baby shower. Probably because breakfast is my favorite. So years ago when I was pregnant with one of my children I had some wonderful friends make some delicious crepes for my baby shower. Of course I got the recipe from them and I wanted to include it in our Baby Shower Blog event.

Recipe: Crepe batter: makes 10-12 10" crepes

1 cup flour

1/2 tsp salt

3 egss

1/3 c melted butter

1 tsp grated lemon peel

1 1/2 c milk

(1 tbs sugar for dessert crepes)

**mix all ingedients in a blender until smooth. Let batter rest refrigerated for 4 hours. Before cooking (1hour) batter must come to room temp.

Heat a 10" pan over medium high heat. Spray well with pam spray or smear with 1 T butter. You will only need to grease the pan for the first crepe.

pour in 1/4 cup batter and swirl pan quickly to coat the bottom of the pan. Cook until the bottom is a pleasant brown. Turn over and cook the other side only a minute or more. Remove and repeat until all batter is used. Stack crepes until ready to fill.

Strawberry filling: to fill 11-12 crepes

2 cups whipped topping

1 8oz. Dannon stawberry yogurt

6 extra large strawberries, cubed

2 stawberries sliced into rounds for the top

**Fold 1 c whipped topping with yogurt to barely blend. Add chopped strawberries and the other 1 c whipped topping. Fold until just mixed. Keep chilled until ready to use.

**Assembly: Fill crepes with 1 lrg. spoonful of filling. fold crepe in half twice. Place 3-4 strawberry slices on top. Sprinkle very lightly with powdered sugar. Serve

My review: Cute soother saver. The part I like best about the Bugalug soother saver that makes it different from other brands is the cute little bug on the metal clip. The clip makes a tight and snug grip between the clip and shirt so it won't fall off. I like the idea of clipping two together to make a nursing cover or bib with. Multi use is always a plus. Bugalug also carries other cute products including barrettes, headbands, pony loops, and belts.

My Review: The Bliss nursing bra is comfortable and supportive which is good for either just having had a baby or later down the road. I chose this bra because it is described as the perfect t-shirt bra and I always wear t-shirts. I like that the bra cups have a little stretch to them allowing them to always fit since during breast feeding you always have a fluctuation in your size. I like that the cups retain their shape too. The signature Bravado B-clips are suppose to lie flat under clothing which I found to be true. I think the Bravado Designs nursing bra is well thought out and would be a great addition to any nursing mom's wardrobe. I like knowing one of the owner's overseeing these bra's is a lactation consultant so you know that they are probably designed well for breastfeeding.

My review: I love the sprout shell. I love a product that can be used for more than one thing saving you money and space. I don't like having a lot of stuff and with a small house without a garage saving space is a must. I love the multi function of this product. It is used as your baby grows making the time you would use it much longer and more worth the purchase. You can start using the product while your baby is in the infant car seat which I love because I know from experience that using a blanket that flaps in the wind or makes it hard to hold onto the handle just doesn't work very well. Then when you are nursing it can be used as a nursing cover. Finally when your baby is old enough to go in the shopping cart or restraunt high chairs you can use it for covering up the seats and keeping your baby away from gross germs. Every baby I have had has tried to chew on the shopping cart handles. so gross! The sprout shell is well made and comes in adorable prints. Making this product a very Hip purchase. I received the sprout shell called kaleidoscope for review. I am very happy with it. The colors are vibrant and it looks great. I know the need for a product like this after having 3 children and definetely reccomend you buy one. I have been wanting the sprout shell since I first learned about it. The sprout shell is a genius product. I love it! Tell all your friends about it. I know I am.

It is a nice, stretchy, confrotable material that is perfect for your changing body. My Review:Oh my gosh! I love Pippalily! It took me a long time to decide which Pippalily sling I wanted because there are so many cute patterns to choose from. I finally decided on the Lacework pattern in cotton(pictured above with the brown, pink and green)The Pippalily sling is adorable, well made and a life saver. I love baby wearing. I am all about keeping my babies close. That's what every baby wants anyway. They just want their Mommy, ok or Daddy. Pippalily even has a couple slings for Dad to wear in the cottons. I have cleaned house, made meals, gone on walks, you name it with my babies snug in a little pouch. I wouldn't have it any other way. That's why I was so excited to find Pippalily carried adorable slings in very stylish patterns. I think I was drawn to the lacework pattern for a couple of reasons one, it's very cute and two, I just love that cute little head poking out in the picture and all snuggled in to his mama. If you haven't tried baby wearing you should. It really allows you to do so much while still keeping your baby happy and feeling loved. Pippalily also carries other products that are very cute too. they have minky blankets,diaper clutches, straps, gift sets and bamboo swaddlers.

My Review:
I have known the need for this product with each of my children. I always used a washcloth to drape over my baby as a solution, but the bath Luve' is better than a washcloth. The Bath Luve' is actually larger than I expected it to be. I am so excited to use this product with my new baby. I have already packed it away, for babies first bath. Newborns need to be kept warm and this is a perfect was to keep my baby warm and comfortable so he won't be so tramatized by everything new. Another plus about this product is the price. As a parent, we all know how difficult for us the transition from birth to 6 months can be... sleepless nights, confusion, not knowing, feeling overwhelmed, trouble feeding, Colic, and of course, the wonderful hormonal shifts we face! Most of us know about the comfort and many different benefits that are achieved from swadddling newborns, which has been done for hundreds of years. The WOOMbie was created after my third daughter was born. I was feeling such frustration with all of the swaddling blankets and contraptions that I bought to help with the new baby. Even as a seasoned parent, there are still new issues, as every baby is so unique.Our situation was not only with comfort...but with safety. After finding Bella with a name-brand swaddling blanket unraveled and over her face, I knew there had to be a better and safer way to swaddle.

Getting up every 2 hours during the night can be draining for not only mom, but everyone in the house- both emotionally and physically. Every bit of help is a gift and a savior! As a RN and mother, I sought out for different products that would work for the baby and myself on a few different levels. First, to swaddle the baby for her safety and comfort, to both prevent her from scratching herself and also prevent the Startle Reflex. It needed to be comfortable and to stay put! Velcro almost always detaches as baby stretches during the night, and blankets unravel and may overheat baby, or end up on the baby's face contributing to SIDS. I needed something that would stay intact and snug, but at the same time, allow the baby to stretch out if she needed to, where the fabric would then automatically reconform to a snug cocoon-like or peanut shape afterwards.
Our first prototype

After months of prototyping, the WOOMbie was born. After further testing and research, our product was launched nationally December of 2007, and Worldwide in early 2008.
Parents love The WOOMbie because of its easy IN/OUT design, stay put zipper which will not open or unravel and its unique 4 way stretch material. In a nut-shell, the WOOMbie helps to maintain the comfort levels of both baby and parent, easing undue stress and promoting a more peaceful environment, which is greatly, greatly needed and appreciated during the first few months of life, during transition from the womb. Needless to say, I wish I had the WOOMbie years ago! It has personally helped me, my husband and our baby tremendously! So many new parents and babies are achieving a smoother transition from womb to 3 months after trying the WOOMbie.

My Review: As you know I love innovative products. I also love Mompreneur's. I really think a mom knows how to make a product help other mom's because of their experience. When I found out about the Woombie about a year ago it was instantly one of my must haves. When I saw it I thought "Oh my gosh why didn't anyone think of that before" It's simple, yet genius. At the hospital the nurses swaddle your baby up to keep them warm and secure but with the baby squirming so much and the startle refex, you end up rewrapping them over and over again. The Woombie is a perfect solution to this problem. I am so excited to have a Woombie packed in my diaper bag to bring to the hospital this time. I only wish I had it with my other 3. I am also excited to see if it helps my baby sleep better. I know babies wake themselves up by having the startle reflex and I agree a baby will feel more secure in a woombie like when they were in the woom so the idea is great . I love the 2 zipper design I received with the original woombie. It will make diaper changes easy. You can zip up the bottom while leaving the top still zipped which will make it easy to just take out the babies legs and not have to take the whole thing off. I am also excited to see the new designs coming late in July. I am most interested in the convertible woombie pictured below: It allows you to take your babies arms out or decide to keep them in.

My Review: I recieved the Custom Argyle visor beanie pictured on the left below for review. It is adorable and well made.I can't wait to put my little man in that cute little hat.
