Forget what you know about cloth diapers if you haven't seen any since the Diaper pin days. Cloth Diapers are now a lot safer and easier. I am 9 years older than my youngest brother and looking back I cannot believe I was changing his cloth diaper when I was 9 years old. I never poked him with the diaper pin although I know many times I was afraid I would poke myself. I also had to clean out the diaper in the toilet and ring it out. Gross!! Cloth diapers were not easy and not cute back then.
Fast forward to today and you will be amazed what is available for those who would like to use cloth diapers. The diapers are cute and fit a wide range of sizes with ajustable diapers that don't reqiure any pins. One brand of cloth diapers I want to tell you about is Thirsties.
About the Product: Thirsties Duo Diapers are easy to use and even easier on your wallet! The adjustable rise of this diaper design means one size will last twice as long. In fact, you'll only need two sizes to cover your baby from birth all the way to potty-learning. Period!
Similar in feel and fit as the best selling Duo Wrap, Thirsties Duo Diapers are completely waterproof yet remain breathable, pliable, and very comfortable for your baby's delicate skin. The ultra-soft microfleece liner on the inside protects baby's skin from wetness and also resists staining. The handy sleeve design features openings on both sides of the diaper between the microfleece and waterproof layer. The duo openings featured in Thirsties Duo Diaper enable easy insert stuffing from either side of the diaper and also make for easy cleaning. There is no need to remove the soiled inserts when washing-your hands will remain clean! Simply toss your soiled Thirsties Duo Diaper in the laundry and the inserts will agitate free from the diaper in the washing machine.
My Review: I received a duo diaper in storm cloud size one to review and I love the color and softness of the diaper. I have been contemplating changing to cloth diapers and was excited to give these a try. I like that the size one diaper has the ability to adjust from 6lbs to 18lbs. When my baby was born he was 9lbs. and basically skipped the newborn size of disposable diapers and within 2 weeks outgrew size one of the disposable diapers. With babies growing so fast the adjustable sizing is a must, it allows you to invest in cloth diapers and still save money compared to disposable. Since I only have the one cloth diaper right now I have been able to compare the cloth diaper with disposables. One thing I have noticed is the softness of a cloth diaper on my babies skin and on his chubby little thighs. The disposables have left redness and marks around his legs while the cloth diaper seams to be more gentle on his skin. When you think about it wouldn't you rather have cloth on your skin than a crinkly paper/plastic like material? What are disposable diapers made of anyway?
